Before I finally took the leap and got my cock pierced, I agonized about the decision for years. Did I really want to permanently modify the penis I had had my whole life, and that I loved? Would it hurt too much? Would it be hard to pee? Would my husband and others like it? What jewelry options were available? How would it feel wearing jewelry? What about sex?
This blog will answer these questions, at least from my experience.
Before diving into the rest, here is my answer to the "pain" question: It was very intense, for a few seconds and then quickly settled into a sensation that was somewhere between pleasure and pain. For that reason, for about a month after, I had a perpetual erection as the healing took place and the sensation subsided.
The nice fellow who did my piercing told me the part most men have trouble with is the first step, which involves inserting a steel tube into the urethra. For me, that was nothing. I regularly inserted things much bigger than the piercing tube. The end of that steel tube is aligned with the piercing hole that is going to be made. Then, the piercing needle is inserted through the tube. For me, the insertion of the tube was nothing. It was easy. No pain at all.
The first pain I felt was when the needle was pushed through the wall of the urethra. It was really intense for a very a matter of seconds. It should also be said that I wanted to wear large jewelry. So, I got the largest piercing they offered. I was pierced at an 8 gauge and then immediately stretched to a 6. There are much smaller piercings available. There is also no need to stretch a piercing. As is typical of this piercing, mine bled a lot. My cock was bandaged and then a plastic bag was placed over it to keep blood from staining my pants. The bleeding was pretty much done after about 24 hours.

Your experience is likely to be different, particularly if you are getting a piercing other than a Prince Albert, or getting pierced at the more common 10 gauge, or have no experience sticking anything inside your pee hole, which can be, in and of itself, pretty intense the first time. For this and other reasons, I highly recommend that anyone considering a piercing that involves the urethra to practice urethral sounding (a.k.a. "cock stuffing"). By "practice" I mean, give it a try at least several times. Be sure to do it slowly and carefully to avoid injury. Naked VT beginner's guide to pee hole play is here. If you are used to having things inside your pee hole, the piercing experience, and the resulting jewelry, will likely be more pleasure than pain. It will certainly be easier than if you are not accustomed to this kind of activity in advance.
In terms of jewelry, there are a lot of options from which to choose. There are steel rods, rings, horseshoe-shaped things, plugs and more. There are silicone variations of all of those. THIS is where I shop.
I have a lot of jewelry to suit my mood. Sometimes I like carrying a lot of weight (which is a whole area of pleasure I will get into in another blog). So I put in my double zero, largest diameter ring and may even add some other jewelry. Or, maybe, I put two or three smaller gauge rings in at the same time. Then, the rings can jingle together adding vibrations that are extra fun.

Sometimes I want a plug that goes deep inside. Sometimes I want to stretch my urethra. Other times I want to stretch my piercing. The options and combination of options seem nearly limitless. Sometimes I am going out to places where I may want to pee standing up, without urine spraying around uncontrollably (more on that in a bit), so I wear a hollow, pee-and-cum-through plug that limits the stream to coming only out the front of the penis.
And, speaking of pee spraying around when you pee with a Prince Albert Piercing...
When you add another hole to your urine flow, managing that flow becomes more challenging. You don't want to walk into a public restroom, walk up to a urinal, pull out your dick and start peeing, only to realize that half of your piss is running straight down the front of your pants, because you now have another pee hole pointing right in that direction, bringing new meaning to the term "taking a leak."

Different kinds of jewelry can also send piss splashing in all directions. Naturally, depending on your preferences and your situation, this could be seen as either a feature or a bug.
Naturally, you can learn to manage your flow when you pee. You can plug either hole with a finger and then point the open hole in the direction you chose. This is easiest to accomplish if you are not wearing any jewelry. Even with practice, this is not always a 100% solution, so many men with Prince Albert piercings simply urinate while sitting on the toilet. Another option is a PA Plug, like the one pictured below.

A PA plug involves a hollow steel tube that is inserted deep into the penis. A plug at the tip is unscrewed for pissing or coming. Wearing one of these it is easy to control your urine flow, with the added plus that you are perpetually stroking the inside of your cock as you walk around.
For me, one of the unexpected joys of having my PA is the sensation of stretching my piercing during sexual activity. I have stretched mine to the point where, after having warmed up for a bit, I am able to get most of my pinkie finger through the piercing.

In short, I could not be happier with my Prince Albert. Having it has dramatically increased the number of options I have for enjoying my cock. I love how it looks. I love how it feels. And I love all of the different jewelry options available.
