World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is a rare opportunity to support environmentally sustainable living, body positivity and enjoy some social nudity in the process. This year, Montpelier, Vermont's WNBR will take place on June 13, 2026. Gathering for the ride will take place at 1 PM at the Dog River Park and Ride. The ride will start at 2 PM.
Prior to the ride, a pre-party will take place at 10:00 AM to give participants time to decorate their bikes and bodies. We hope to see you there. For inspiration, here is a short video of the Montpelier WNBR from 2025.
It is worth noting that many people have a lot of questions about WNBR events. Below are some of the most common and their answers:
Question: Doesn't the bike seat hurt?
Answer: No. It does not hurt any more than riding with clothing. Some riders choose to invert biking shorts over their bike seats for extra padding. This is generally not necessary because the bike route is smooth and relatively short.
Question: Is this legal?
Answer: Yes, it is legal so long as you are not engaging in lewd behavior. Throughout most of Vermont it is legal to be nude in public, under certain circumstances, including these events. Some local municipalities have, sadly passed local ordinances that perpetuate harmful body shaming. Thankfully, Montpelier is not one of those.
Question: What if I don't have a bike?
Answer: Every year many people join the biking portion of the event using skateboards and other human-powered modes of transportation. Additionally, there is another group of people who walk from the starting point along a shorter path to the Vermont Capitol Statehouse.
