Why We are Sex Positive

Some of the earliest human-made tools that have been discovered by archeologists have been hand-carved sex toys, dildos used by men and women for sexual pleasure. (See photo above) Though less often reported on than other tools, like spearheads, these ancient pleasure devices began showing up about the same time as did the hunting tools. This suggests that sexual pleasure was as important - or at least almost as important - as hunting was to ancient people, who were willing to dedicate significant brain power, time and energy into crafting these interesting tools.
Now consider this: human's closest living relatives, the Bonobos, use sex as a means of creating cohesive and peaceful societies. In a Bonobo tribe, it often seems that everyone is doing everyone else, regardless of gender or sex. It also turns out that they make an assortment of handmade tools, including ones used for sexual pleasure.
As you think about that, consider this other fact: Even Pope Francis has said that sexual pleasure is a gift from God. And, who are we to argue with the great almighty, if there is one?
Bottom line is that, no matter where we look for objective, rational information about sex, sexual pleasure, and all related topics, we find that sexual desire and drive are integral parts of our most basic humanity.

We also have strong evidence of what happens when we ignore, deny, suppress or repress our sexual desires. And, it ain't pretty. Again, we need look no further than the Catholic Church too see how toxic and dysfunctional that can become. Sex, it turns out, is such a deep and strong aspect of our humanity that we cannot really deny it for very long before if starts to find other ways of expressing itself, often with horrible and damaging consequences.
Sex shame, we believe, is equally as toxic and dysfunctional as body shaming. And what has body shaming gotten us, other than a bunch of anorexic and suicidal teens?
For all of these reasons, we here at Naked Vermont will not only be promoting body-positive nudist freedom, but also sex-positive sexual freedom. We are not a porn site, not that there is anything wrong with those. We are a place where we provide a forum for people to discuss and share their nudism and sexual experiences, including sharing pictures and videos of their sexual experiences, so long as all parties involved consent to the sharing of the material.
We hope you will join us on this new adventure as we encourage everyone to celebrate the pleasure our bodies can provide.
